Philippines, adaptable to the new normal
Draft no. 3
Philippines, like the rest of the world, faces an unresolvable pandemic. But the pandemic is much more than a health crisis; it's also an unrivalled socio-economic crisis. Stressing every one of the countries it touches, specially the Philippines. It has the potential to create devastating social and economic effects that will leave deep-rooted scars.
We have now
reached the tragic milestone of deaths, and the human family is suffering under
an almost intolerable burden of loss. Why? It’s because our government didn’t
have a plan for this kind of pandemic. Every single day, people are losing jobs
and income, with no way of knowing when normality will return. There are also
numerous mental health threats associated with the current pandemic. It affects
children, adolescents and their families in an exceptional way. Despite these
problems, we have to remember that life must go on. On the other hand, we must
learn about our mistakes so we can improve so that our country can become more
resilient in the next crisis we may face. And also, we must never forget what
it had taught us.
The novel
coronavirus spread so rapidly that it has changed the rhythm of the globe. It
brought a lot of challenges. After we overcome the pandemic, which will surely
happen, we must carry out a comprehensive evaluation to maintain firmness when
faced with similar challenges in the future. We must also craft measures to
cope with these challenges together.
